I don't think goo gone or any of that will help. Sanding or just don't worry about it. don't stain? use a clear finish?

I just got a water based clear finish coincidently ...I'll give that try if I can't sand the glue off...arthritis eh ..
Any experience with water based clear finishes ?

My only experience with water based finishes has been bad. Oil base or lacquer seems to adhere far better and penetrates the wood better as well.

I finally picked up some Tru-Oil, up until now I've been using Boiled Linseed, Danish oil, and spray lacquer.  

The oil finishes are wonderful... rub in, wipe off... done...

Which tru-oil ...there seems to be a lot of talk about which one is good ...for example there's a special kind that can only be acquired /sold in some states??..which brand do you use?

Using a sandpaper with a bigger grit may help dig into the wood and remove some of the glue. Use like a 100 or 80 grit and see if that helps. Just make sure not to get carried away and take off too much wood.

If you use a wet paper towel and wipe off any excess glue before it dries, it will help.

Thanks Dan I did but after I thought I got it all some came out ...I think I use too much glue in general. I'm always a bit nervous I won't seal the gap. I spread evenly...

LOL Don't worry about it you're not alone. The only way to get a feel for how much glue to use is by gluing a LOT of stuff together.

That arthritis stuff ain't worth a _____! You might want to look into hops capsule supplements. It's done wonders for me, doesn't cure anything but makes it noticeably easier to move and get things done. Very low incompatibility with other meds and unless you are allergic to hops doesn't have any negative side effects.
