Confess your disasters and f**k-ups!
I'll start:
My first 3 builds had tuners up-side down.
Dropped my cordless drill on my bare foot and broke my little toe.
Snapped a neck in half whilst screwing it onto a body.
Drilled into my own hand several times.
Glued my own hands to the workbench / tools / guitar several times.
Glued a box together only to find I hadn't tightened the barrel-type jack-pug nut.
Marked out the fret-lines in a completely different scale than what I needed.
Left a tube of superglue open which dripped onto a £25 Cohiba box which melted the varnish.
Table saw 'spat' a hidden nail into my FACE.
Superglue in my hair.
Danish Oil in my hair.
Dog that was in the workshop with me barked suddenly and loudly making me jump, throwing an electric sander in the air.
Drill-bit slipped whilst drilling sound-holes, which ended up 'writing' all over a brand new Ashton VSG box.
There's more I'm sure...
Come on now, be honest!
Bonus points for pics!

I've had my fair share of disasters but always managed to recycle parts from the Turkeys, nothing ventured nothing gained!
Getting used to different power tools has been a learning curve, and i now know why they're called "power" tools but they have their limits - managed to spectacularly snap two band saw blades by cutting wood pieces too fine, a few slips here and there.... but i've still got all my fingers after 30 odd builds behind me, so not doing too bad! (-:
My most often uttered phrase in the beginning was " phew...there must be an easier way to do this" which has resulted in a collection of drilling, sawing and sanding attachments which left the bad old days behind and the ability to produce leaner, neater builds, like they say "if it don't need it, don't do it" (-;
Another golden rule in the workshop is "if it moves, clamp it " !
A disturbingly large number of these misadventures seem to involve so-called "power" tools... :-/
I no longer use power tools due to a few near misses and not quite misses. Haven't used a single power tool on any of my builds. Hand saws, hand drills 'n elbow grease is all I use.
Had a 9 inch grinder slip and take a nice quarter inch wide trench out of my thigh only just above the kneecap. Also had a piece of metal I was drilling snap, the snapped bit stayed attached to the drill bit and the stay on button was stuck. I was in a confined space so couldn't let it go had to hold on until my friend found the plug and saved me. I'd had hold of it for so long with it shaking that it completely skinned both my palms and 6 of my fingers. Took 3 months to heal and I haven't used anything more powerful than a cordless since!
I like using hand tools for builds, feels more traditional and I find if I do make a mistake it is a lot less destructive than if I'd been using power tools!
Saying that I did split a headstock clean through the middle with a hand drill. That's probably my biggest cock up to date!
I like hand tools also. What type of drill do you use? A photo of your kit would be very cool. thanks jeff
We actually have a group for this very topic:
