Let's see - put a magnet in the center hole and wrap wire around the wire spool that might work for a pickup and a plugged in banjo!

too cool fo skool, wid da spool!! LOL,...like the tap effect..might cool instrument, Brian! you must used some fat gauge...it is marvelous tone....like a bass banjer  ;-)
