What I've been up to. Unfinished tricone resonator, double course three string.

Demo of my latest build that I couldn't wait to share. It's not even finished yet and this is just a test while I've got it strung up to check for issues (th...

Wow, thanks Jim. That means a lot to me.

Thanks Dave. Glad you like it. Just an old cutlery box, some birch plywood, pine support poles and some cones but I'm really happy with it. More music to come but I need to finish off the rest of the build so I can blow y'alls socks off haha.

Thanks Brian. Glad that you like it.

Thanks Derek. Very kind of you both.

For those who may be interested, I'm planning on posting photos of the various building stages that I remembered to photograph, the supplies I used and my math equations on figuring out the build. Hopefully someone will find it useful if they decide they'd like to build one themselves?

Thanx bear, haven’t heard a tricone in awhile, it sounds great!!

Hey Andries. Thanks for your kind words. Yes, three "upside down" six inch cones with a homemade tricone T-bridge between them and then a saddle on top of the T-bridge. Under the face plate / top leaf yes. Exactly like a factory made tricone guitar but homemade by me. I've always wanted a tricone resonator guitar but couldn't dream of affording one. Being disabled don't come cheap haha. So in the spirit of the cigar box guitar movement and why these instruments existed in the first place, I decided to build my own. It's taken me two months nearly and I'm still a couple of weeks away from finishing but well worth it.

Thanks again for your kind words and support my friend :0)

Golly! Thats a fine looking 6er Bear! your making it sound smooth and slick, whit that big T in front ,then the cones must be upside down? under the top leaf? is it a ready made or a own build?

Thanks Uncle John. Yeah  I'm pretty happy with the way it's going. Turned out pretty well but the test stringing revealed a couple of problems  In a way I'm hugely happy about the problems because they've led to some design changes that I'm really excited to implement. More on those in a couple of weeks though when the guitar is finished and it's the big reveal. I shall say no more!

Thanks again for your kind words and your continued support on here. I really appreciate it and have come to class you as a good friend. :0)

Hey, Bear.  That is a good looker.  Whoo-hooo.  Purty big sound too.  I like your tee shirt too. Nice smooth accurate slide work with some nice vibrato.
