Time Stands Still (On the Burying Ground) - A Jamateur Collab Hut Project

An original tune with lyrics by me and instrumental/vocal help from 8 of my friends on Cigar Box Nation

Performer Credits at the end. Thanks to all who participated and special thanks to Silent Jim for leading the project!.

Time Stands Still on the Burying Ground

Death heads on the stones
Marking spaces for ashes and bones
Was a young man walking round
He heard the voices whisper
time stands still
on the burying ground

Since 1600 years
Copp's Hill drowned in tears
400 years some bodies in the ground
He heard the voices whisper
time stands still
on the burying ground

Same here today
As the sad day in May
When they laid two sick children in the ground
He heard the voices whisper
time stands still
on the burying ground

Time has passed around the trees
And the old fence marking a boundary
Leaving it's mark on all that surround
He heard the voices whisper
time stands still
on the burying ground

Death heads on the stones
Marking spaces for ashes and bones
Was an old man walking round
He heard the voices whisper
time stands still
on the burying ground

I've been gone all week for work - what an awesome thing to come home to!!!

Well done everyone.  Thanks to ED for laying the foundation and putting his lyrics out there in the first place.  Also great work on the video.  That cemetery is something else.  Silent Jim - great job on putting it all together and bringing it home.  Your idea to collaborate like this is off to a fine start.   It's a privilege to be on the same track some Nation legends.

I think this really captures the essence of ED's lyrics and G minor riffs and epitomizes the CBG sound.  Long live the HUT!

Gents, that literally had the spook. I liked the way all of the instruments combined to give a "tick tock" movement that suggests the passage of deep, eternal time.

Thanks everyone for the great comments. I had done nothing with those lyrics for months fearing the outcome of a less than amateur talent. All the guys put in to create something fantastic. It all makes me extraordinarily happy I shared the lyrics with the group.
