I love spalted wood. Some of the burl wood is fantastic works of Heaven's art. It's pricy but sometimes I find a bargain. Looking under luthier wood on eBay can be dangerous.

I sure agree about finding what the git likes.  Just made a vid with one that was a struggle.  GDG, not so good.   Converted to GDGB - not much difference.   Open E - EABG#.   Hunh.  Seems like it found its way home.

Thanks Jim. Thanks Uncle, thanks Erazmo. I like the tuning ideas. I like finding the best tuning for a particular guitar. Each guit seems to have definite preferences. You can't force it into something or you can break strings or get the death rattles moaning out of your box. you can improve your sound by the tuning.

Yup, Jim,  But easier than a six.  Dave, I use both the DGBE and the open G (banjo style) DGBD.  And a hybrid between the banjo style and CBG style GDG - I like GDGB.,

And my kindergarten teacher thought I would never learn my letters.
