Yeah RTZ, this pickup was made by Wayfinder. I got it before Dan told me the back story of unsanctioned copies of Elmar's and Dan's design. But, I have to say it compares favorably to the Dan Sleep I have on a different build.

Yup Bob, I agree. I heard a bluegrass band do an up tempo version and that's the only time an arrangement of this just didn't work for me.

I like to listen to Buddy Miller's version as well.  His is a little more bluesy where Tom T. Hall's is more like the guy actually looking for his woman.  I like Buddy Miller's intro the best.

Great job Jim.  Big fan of Tom T. Hall (and Bobby Bare).  This is one of my favorite songs and you did a fantastic cover!

Thanks AGP. This is a 25 1/2" scale and I'm using regular gauge electric strings. I think they were around .047w, .024w, and .014 steel. I'm liking this tuning for certain types of songs.

Yep!, another good one Jim, also an old 'Tom T' fan, still have a few of his Vinyl Albums tucked away in storage somewhere ?, which were purchased in "Days of Yore".

Also prompted me to get my Eeb tuned 25¼" scale, down off the wall for a quick play !!!, currently strung with 0.52NW / .028NW / .017PS strings, but! I'm thinking about replacing with a lighter gauge combo ???

Yup Dave, you need light gauge electric strings for that. I didn't have any at first so I used a 3rd string and lowered it to E. I liked the way that felt and sounded so I may go back to that. Here's Shane's original post that got me interested
