Hi Chuck. I use Rustoleum spray enamel. Light coats. Start with yellow spraying in a donut shape so the center of the top is light yellow. Then red with a bigger donut so the center is light yellow with red circling around. Then black in a bigger donut so the edge of the top is black graduated to red then yellow in the center. It doesn’t have to be even. I hang the guitar on a mic stand from a wire around the head (through a tuner hole), That way I can do front and back. The sides and neck get the overspray. I mask off the fretboard and pickup etc.
