Thanks very, very much for your patronage, and glad you're still smiling (assuming the tune caused this;-) ) It makes me smile every time I play it. In fact, I'm having just a tad bit of trouble right now creating something that is not derivative. Loved your story about your neighbor.

Oh, and just a wee minor correction: calling a geologist an engineer is like giving a dawg a scratching post and a litter box: you end up with a mess, and one very confused animal. Many people don't really know the difference between geologists and engineers. What I tell my non-scientific friends is, "Geologists study rocks. Engineers drive trains." >:-E

That said, my father was a geologist who became an award-winning mechanical engineer. He was a real Mr. Gadget; some of it musta rubbed off. *sigh* I miss him. He woulda dug these little git boxes.

Well I guess I've been so busy lately this one slipped by me! The video introduction of the Oily engineer it is!

Dig the tune sir, old fashioned works for me! And heres some irony for ya!

Last night I took an elderly (mid 80's) neighbor friend out to a local pub for bluegrass night. Of course this rare outing required "dressing up" for him, which means a vintage pair of "slacks" and a collered shirt. He was sporting an antique pocket watch in a tooled leather holster, and explained "the problem is you cant find nice pants with a watch pocket anymore"!  Me, dressed up means clean jeans and a clean t shirt, accessorized with a "modern" clip on belt loop watch. We must have been quite the sight, LOL!

Classic! Still smiling!

Fantastic. A really lovely composition and performance. It's been a long time coming, but was certainly worth the wait. Just promise it won't be as long before the next one.
