I built the guitar, the bridge is ebony with a either a an ebony or buffalo horn saddle, I can't remember. It was made by randy bretz, he does most of my bridges. Thank you! I wish I could lay claim to having built The Busker, but it was designed and built by my long-distance beer buddy and CBN member, Harrison Withers. The bridge is ebony, the saddle is buffalo bone, both by Randy Bretz, another CBN member. Not sure about the nut; have to ask Harrison. Yep, the action is set up for both slide and fretting; it's a little higher than my Strat setup, but is still eminently playable.

Hey, Wes! Yeah, just gotta order one, wait 2 weeks or so for it to get here from my States mailing address, then try not to mess up Harrison's box too much when I install it. Am onto another song that has a Warren Haynes-like vocal, and needed a new batt pronto, so did a quick, relatively non-destructive hack.

Just as a follow up, I had to disassemble The Busker to replace the internal 9V batt, and decided to move the batt clip to the outside - sorry, Harrison, not as neat, but this way I can replace the batt quickly without damaging the screws. I'm gonna go through 9Vs like water, as much as I'm playin' this thing. Anyway, I figured I would try recording it unamplified, using Garage Band on my iPad as a test bed.

Muahahahaha! Cranked up the built-in 50's Tweed amp plug-in, added a touch of ' verb and echo, and this thing grinds like a monster! I got the Foghat "Slow Ride" riff going, then spent time trying to add bass, drum, slide lead and vocal tracks. My timing's off a tad on each track, but this looks like it's gonna be a kick in the ass for recording. I recommend Garage Band to those with some minor coin, looking for a relatively cheap, very close to pro level recording solution. Disclaimer: I do not now, nor ever have, worked for Apple, Inc.
