Yep these are the poor mans version the Hang go for anywhere between $3,000 and $15,000. I want to play around with different density of mallets too & I read somewhere that whilst the paint give clearer notes it takes away from a lot of microtones that are produced. So I'd like to have a go at an upainted one to see the difference.

That does produce a wonderful sound. There are similar things around called Hang and Hank drums. As you say, for the recyclers out there, just remember to take the valve off first.

Nice build Penny...theyre on my list of builds as well, along with the tonewood tongue drums...i recently rescued 12 propane tanks from the recyclers downtown, so hopefully i can get to them soon...sounds great

@ Andy Kirke there are instructions on The indestructibles and on youtube make sure you clean it out well because sparks n LPG arn't a great mix.
