Minglewood Blues on the Gus Cannon style banjo

This song is from Gus Cannon and the Jug Stompers. I figured it was a good one to do on this banjo built from a frying pan and a guitar neck like Gus' first ...

Really frickin' cool, Jim. Now I have this tune in my head!

Blind your eyes and close your ears Nancy. Cats beware! Banjo made of what Jim? Actually, I'll be looking for the Stanly tribute. Cats notwithstanding...

Thanks Dave. I just heard that Dr Ralph Stanley died so I guess I'll do another banjo post tomorrow to honor him.

Thanks AGP. The Banjo Joe, Blind Blake recordings are some of my favorites.

Yup, Wade that Firefox 3 book nails it on the head. I didn't want to upset anybody by posting the animal it came from. An old timer told me folks around here used to name their cats Banjo because that was quite likely their destiny.

"Love the Banjer build", well played and sung "Banjo Joe Jim" :-)

Jim-interesting! I thought skunt was a typo. I read in my Firefox book that they would use cats or whatever they could find-so I thought why not a polecat! Thanks for being inspirational!

Oh yeah Wade you probably saw the word "skunt" which old timers around here say instead of skinned. I don't think I know of anybody who has skunt a skunk!

Thanks Tim, I was in the middle of a few non banjo builds but when Shane posted about Gus Cannon's banjo I jumped right on it. I had all the materials already so it went pretty quickly.
