Finding Robert Johnson (tracing the steps of a blues legend)

NOTE: This video is 1/2 hour long but I think all blues fans will enjoy it.

This is the big project I've been working on for the past several days.

I trace the life of Robert Johnson through Mississippi from Hazelhurst to Greenwood. This video was a one man show. I narrated, filmed, and edited all of it on location in Mississippi without a script.

I hope you guys like it.

Cool stuff, you've been busy..I believe I read his wife supported him for several months and may have taught him music as she played piano in the local church, so she may have taught him to read music, as he plays a guitar like a piano pieces are written with the bass notes seperate from the high notes etc. Before he met her apparently people didn't like his playing. I also read as a young kid he has the strings on the side of the building which he would pay for hours. I guess this would have been made from cotton bale wire.  Happy Birthday man.. great video.. keep safe and thanks for the Video.

Huge grin good.   :D     What a great trip and a nice tribute to your passed on buddy as well as R.J.   Happy birthday.  And a big thank you.  I have seen a lot of the R.J.  material before, but it was better fun having it presented by someone I know, my CBN friend, Kale.

Thanks Bob. You hit the nail on the head. It takes something as sad as poverty and oppression to create something as beautiful as the blues. I had so much fun retracing these steps and visiting these classic places.

This was great!  A nice tribute not only to RJ but to all the great Blues Musicians who brought about the birth of the blues.  These were the folks who struggled so that many careers were launched years later making fortunes off Delta Blues styled music.
