I'll have a nosey around eBay and see if they've got any. The Remo head is from there too but if I can do it the traditional way then that'd be great. Thanks Dave.

Thanks slow Blues, thanks AGP. I'll bet there's skin around Dani. Calf, goat both work. Where there,s drums, there's hide heads.

Wildly inspirational, Dave. Think I'll buy that banjo head (is it called a head? Face?) and convert some of the bowls I've got around. Not sure where I'd get animal hide in the UK's third largest city haha! Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed it.

The acoustics are wild in that room. 20 ft. ceiling arched like a drum. Long hall like room 50 ft. Long. Big windows on each end and along the outside wall. It makes a great space for an art fair. A big band doesn't work as well. The sound gets all muddled. But one or two instruments is perfect dance hall ball.

Thanks Jim, Uncle John, Silent Jim, James, Cornfed, Rough Cut. And you can share this anytime Tom.

The skins do their thing. We soak the hide in warm water for about 15 minutes. Then dry off the drips and tack the hide on. Like stretching a painting canvas. Jim has instructional videos of doing it. Check out his videos. I'm still learning the best methods. It,s not rocket science. Just wet hide drying and shrinking. Try it Silent Jim. It's cool.
