bemuzic busking in Bury! - Black Crow

This was my first time busking in Bury St Edmunds, and the first time I'd played this new song.
I recorded a djembe loop at home beforehand to save carrying the djembe!!
Lyrics:

Black Crow

There's a black crow in the branches
looking down at me.
They say that it's a bad sign.
Don't know what it means,

and the sun goes behind,
behind a cloud.

Chalk lines on the pavement
wake me from my dreams.
Soon they'll be forgotten.
Washed away by rain,

and the sun and the rain,
weave colours in the sky.

A clock is ticking loudly,
filling up my head.
No one ever winds it,
but it isn't going to stop,

and the earth moves around,
around the sun.

There's a black crow in the branches
looking down at me.
They say that it's a bad sign.
Don't know what it means,

and the sun comes out,
from behind a cloud.

Well done. Really like the song and the performance. Incidentally, the Micro Cube works well on rechargeables too.

Nice song works well, and great riff, how long do your AA batteries last then?...

or do you have a bag of them with you ?

I'm not sure I could stand there in my bug mask!  very brave

thanks Wes, yeah, what I take with me keeps evolving.....everything that comes has to earn it's place!!

lol, thanks Oily, I don't know Loreena McKennet-ish (will Google her!) I'm tuned C,G,C...I'm curious as to where you're going to take it : -)

Belinda,

St. Edmund is rolling in his grave.

I mean that in a good way ;-).

I like the djembe beat; the rolling picking style fits perfectly. I get a Middle Eastern vibe from this one, kinda Loreena McKennet-ish. Great lyrics, as John says, good visuals. What tuning are you playing that in? I'd like to learn it, maybe rock it up some. Not that your original isn't good; it is - very. But now I can't get the beat out of my head, and I'm starting to hear other stuff on top of it, which means I'll have to do something about it.

Thanks all for the comments!
@ Vinylhed, yeah I just do my own material. Lots of people tell me that to make money you need to do stuff that people know, but I’m doing it more for fun so I keep doing my own thing!!…mmm that Bury is a bit far to go : -/
@ Pinetree Joe, I tried lots of different beats before deciding on the djembe. Felt a bit like cheating to have recorded it first, but it would have been one too many things to carry!!
@ Don and George, cheers, yes I wrote the song.
@ Slowpaw Steve, thanks and good luck using the pedal live!! It does make many more things possible when you’re on your own : -)

Not to sugar coat things here, but you sound great! Honestly!

Also, your song is brilliant. If you wrote this songs: congrats. If you didn't write the songs: congrats anyways.

You are a great musician.
