I don't get by the nation often but this morning I saw on the front that you're heading out for a while. Be safe and make sure to take a couple cigar box guitars. We really will have to try to get together and play sometime when you get back. Let me know if you need anything while you are abroad, I'll see if I can help. Take care...
Thank you very much for your encouraging and constructive comments. I enjoy researching material as a means of learning. Having the ability to arrange and present the information accurately as an instructional video helps to clarify my understanding even deeper. It is definitely a pleasure to share this information with friends who share the same interest. I am glad to hear you enjoyed the presentation. Thanks again for your feedback. Enjoy.
Hi Matthew, yes I think I did make the wheel for the fiddle-gurdy a bit smaller to fit in the box. Don't think the size is critical, only for the turning speed. Used a round sawblade that you can put on a drill to cut the wheel. The principle of the FG is not so difficult, the tricky part once it's finished is to get the pieces of cotton on the strings right and the right amount of rosin on the wheel. Good luck with building, let me know if I can help... I usualy start building without plans, so I have to work from memory, but in this case the instructions of Havlena are pretty clear.
Matthew, sorry it took so long to get the tracks to you. I feel ya on he job thing, if it weren't for my wife and daugter and music my job would have killed me a long time ago
Thank you. If Bill and me ever would get our act together we certainly could do that. I mainly play out on the subway platform as a one man show. We get together with our friend Jackie on Friday nights not to rehearse, but to have fun and unwind. Hopefully all three of us will be together again soon to finish our unfinished projects. Enjoy.
Currently, I have too many irons in the fire, but I would certainly enjoy the opportunity to send you a music video to edit into one of your creations. I will definitely keep you in mind. It is very kind of you to offer. Enjoy.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I have always been fasinated by the early rural blues. Although hard for me to express in words correctly, their performances had a simple purity. Maybe it was the time they lived. People had less. They seemed stronger. More alive. Passionate. Maybe I am not saying this right. My internal world trys to reflect this into my external performance. Maybe someday I will finally become it. Until then I forge on and keep trying. Enjoy.
Thank you for your comment and encouragement. I try to do my best. I figure they will be up in cyberspace somewhere for a long long time. (I guess lucky for me and maybe others, I never posted anything nude) LOL I enjoy not only the arranging and performing, but experimenting with the movie maker software is a lot of fun too. I wish technology was this user friendly when I was a boy. No one had computers then, only black and white TV with a half a dozen stations. Enjoy.
