How did you learn about Cigar Box Nation?: I was looking around for ideas to build a headless guitar.

How many instruments have you built so far?: A few

What do you find most interesting about cigar box guitars? (If you do not enter something meaningful here, your membership may be rejected).: Crafting something from nothing and taking everyday objects to make something that sounds extraordinary.
It's the ingenuity of simplicity to reach unique that I find fascinating.

My last few builds

I thought I would just post a compilation of my last few builds in here just to let anyone who's interested see what I've been up to.

I'm not sure what I have shown you guys so I just took a few photos. I don't know if blog posts in here go to the photos page either so I might post them twice.

Quick rundown..

Three different scale length and semi acoustic to full electric builds. The smallest box is the inside sheath of the mid size guitar. So I got one for free…

Up to my neck in it

So I was going to build a guitar for my daughter.. And panicked.. Argh!! I want it to be just perfect. What if it was just.. Well.. Crap.. Useless.. Unplayable?

See I had never built a neck before, and although I'm a 'jump right in' kind of guy I wasn't even sure what glue to use. So I needed a practice.

A close friend of mine (let's call her C.F.) has done me one huge life altering favour for the last year and I thought it would be nice to build her a CBG as a way of thanks.…

Guitar 2 day 1

OK now it's going to be more fun :)

This box has been waiting for me to get a little bit of experience, lurking on top of my cupboard. It's aimed as a gift for my daughter so my usual 'oh that will do' attitude will not cut the mustard, so to speak!!

Short trip out the house to get some oak for the neck and fantastic I find some that will do nicely :)…
