Hi there, thanks for taking a look at my Bazzukas .. On the poehoeha and thundergut strung versions I use the same preamp as they fit on some Oscar Schmit ukes..

On the 1st one I made with metal strings (not a practical little bass im afraid)I fitted one of these mandolin preamps..

The electrics on them are near identical
A lot of the tone will be from the direct mounting of the bridge on top of the piezo which I fit into the bridge saddle, as this is where the string vibration is at its most powerfull

Thank you, Lee. Yes, I've already seen your bazzukas. They seem even smaller than my subkitties. Nice and good sounding instruments. What kind of preamp did you use for them?

Thank you, Glenn. Listen to "Pancho and Lefty" on the upcoming TVZ-tribute-album, I played my other UBass on it. Or watch my Christmas video "Winter Flavour". This one goes to a friend but I think I'll do some recordings before I give it away. I haven't made a fretted one so far but I've got two finished necks around - maybe I'll try to fret one, good idea.

I've been waiting for a chance to make a fretted one of these. Is there a sound clip or vid? Looks great, would love to hear it.
