Thanks all! The mandolin cafe is an absolutely wonderful site that anyone who plays mandolin will appreciate. It's still going strong, as far as I know.
I've been on emando.com a lot lately too. Cool site.

I'm going to try a lot of tunings on this, but I've been having a ball with open A for now

It is a beauty.   Don't know if you play mando or not, but there is (or was) a site called Mandolin Cafe that has some easy 2 finger chord charts.
