Now what? One of these sweet pickups just arrived in the mail and I have no idea how to install it. I'm sure someone has written about this already. Can anyone suggest a link?

Hey I was looking for plans for reso's and I found this: http://www.chaneyproductions.com/catcandobro.html

Anybody got links to others?

Is there some way to make a permanent link to a list of good plans as an archive?

I am getting ready to build my first reso. I plan on using a piezo . disk as the pickup. I purchased a manufactored cone and cover. I am interested in puting the piezo disk on the cone below the bridge. My question is this, will drilling a hole in the piezo ruin it? I know I can just try it but thought I would ask.

Hey, I'm back with results. Sooner than I thought I would be.

Sounds nice, surprisingly good sustain BUT not really loud. I think it will improve in terms of projection and low range when a box is installed. "Cone" used to be a cooking pot lid (steel, 180 grams). I'm thinking about getting a real cone. Do you know the exact dimensions of a 9.5" cone (inner tone well diameter)? Thank you all very much for encouragement!

Thanks....really a simple build.... the toughest part is hooking up a pup if you need it. This on is loud enough for playing in the "parlor"... If does have a piezo under the bridge (trimmed down a round disc piezo with a pair of shears to about 5/16s wide strip...it works).

the best,

Sam

just built a paint lid reso banjo... short scale (21") 4 string... loud acoustic, true sound amped..I know it's a "simple" reso... but the results are so good, I don't know if I will ever go for the real thing.... lol the best, Wichita Sam
