win e box deapth
I have just taken delivery of a wine box from e bay ,It's dimentions are 13"x7.5"x4" deep, what is the Ideal deapth for a resonator cbg.I am using and old low's cone Mal(uk)

I usually go by two things: 1- Will the reso & all the other stuff fit in the box?, 2- Does it look cool?. Sounds like you have the perfect size box. I've used boxes as thin as 2" which is fine if you electrify it. 4" sounds perfect for accoustic or electric (I use a piezo in the cone under the biscuit bridge). This is just my opinions based on what has worked for me. Good luck with the build.

Hi Mal, just in the middle of making a reso with a cone from old low myself. My home made box from old oak floor boards is around 3.25 inches deep. No particular reason for that depth, just seemed to turn out that way!! More of an issue for me is how to make a "biscuit" bridge to sit on top of the cone. If anyone has any pointers I would be very grateful.Sounds like your wine box will be perfect!
