Jim, spammers are unfortunately an unavoidable reality on the internet. This one was caught and banned within minutes of starting to send messages. Your patience in regards to these occasional minor annoyances is appreciated.
Hope it was a accident but I was surprised and disappointed to recieve the following link through CBN http://promotrcker.info/x/0/4621/25666/cig/NOREPAIRS

thanks James, there's more food for thought! i will have a think about that option.
I was using the piezo disc's' for my builds and would install them on the neck just under the bridge, but not inbetween the neck and lid, on the neck after you glue the neck to the lid. Then I would install some insulation foam, weather striping foam, on top of piezo, gives it a better sound. I now use the piezo rods from cb gitty supplies and build them onto the bridge, much loader and you don't get the extra noise from the hand going up and down the neck. If I was you I would try and sandwich the piezo disc in between some wood and build it into the bridge.
Hi Marcus, thanks for the reply, i just want to clarify, does the piezo go under the lid and if so how does it manage to pick up the vibration of the strings? o am i being thick and it goes on the suface of the lid and directly under the strings?
I mount my piezo on the lid at the bridge position. I use silicon glue on the face of the piezo and a piece of duck tape cut a bit bigger to hold it to the lid. Tone has always been good. The cool sound comes from my Shenandoah Jr. amp. Hope this helps.
Hi guys, i am on my first build and am using and adapting a kit from a UK company called ToneTech.
The kit is pretty comprehensive and i am now at the electronics stage of the build, they have supplied a Piezio Pickup and i wandered what sort of tone i can expect to get from this?
Also it seems that i am suposed to mount it direct to the underside of the lid of my Cigar Box, is that the best position and also where abouts between the Bridge and the last fret will produce the best tone and volume.
Any help and advice would be great.
Thanks guys, All the best Steve AKA Geordiebluesman.
I've made seven or eight three and four string CBG's without a truss rod. Now I want to make a six string. I will use quartersawn white oak for the neck. Is it necessary to put a truss rod in it?
On my 3rd CBG and I want to attach the neck differently, rather than straight through. I saw a video or maybe a slide show showing different methods of attaching necks but there is so much info here that I can't find it again. Can anyone help. Please.
