While waiting for David Sutton's book to become available in the U.K. What should be the width of the neck at the nut for a 3 string CBG? 30mm/1 1/4" with a scale of 25"?

I really like 4 pole PBass pups.  They are strong and offset a small box's tendency to get "trebbly".... I've used several on 3 and 4 (especially) 4 stringers and like them.  You can either mount it offset or for string/pole alignment or you can angle the pup so that the string spacing is not an issue...

3 or 4mm birch aircraft ply. It will need some strutting although I will support the bridge from below.

Mike, your going wrong by not out making it! ha ha. But seriously, you may not need the fans and struts, i'm asuming these are lid support/reinforcmets. How thick is the plywood? Other than that it sounds like a plan.

I am planning on building a box from mahogany and maple fingerjointed side, decent ply top and bottom with fans and struts. An almost through neck. Tailpiece, 2 sink plughole strainers in the top 2 corners. Chrome corner pieces and a pickup, master volume, end mounted jack and 3 strings for my CBG. Where am I going wrong?

I have round piezo's. I have covered and 4 pole PBass pickups as well as some covered single coil strat-like pickups. What to use for my upcoming 3 string CBG, why and where are they best positioned.?

I see them @ dollar stores sometimes too. But you can almost always find them in the plumbing section at the hardware store.
