What do some of you guys use for bridge in place of a blot.  I'm just wanting to try new things.

Hi Mark,
Have a look at my video Bridges & Tails which is currently on page 6 of the video pages. Or click on this link HERE. Or do a search in the little box in the very top right corner of the CBN site - although the search function doesn't seem to be working at the moment. Regards John D
A chopstick from P.F. Chang's as a saddle set into wood for the base. I shape them ( the chopstick) to a triangle shape and route out a channel in the wood to accept the chopstick saddle. Take a look at some of my guitar pictures vicky has one with a rod piezo under the saddle. I found the plastic chopsticks are made out of a really hard plastic. I also round out the handle part of said chopstick and make fret dots out of them. I cut 1/4 slices from it and inlay the fret markers with them.I Also use them for nuts on 3 and 4 strings. They through them out after you use them so free to me. You could also by them really cheap in stores get like 10 sets for $5.00 look for the plain white ones. It you like the old bone look soak them in old coffee for a few days it gives them that look of old bone. Just think outside the box ha ha ha ha
How about some antler?
Old keys / brass rod / steel rod / fret wire
I use welding rod on a piece of maple, just because I got it, isn't a welder a essential CBG tool.
Cheers Ron
I've been using Corian counter top material. It is very hard plastic, looks like stone, works with wood tools. I friend at work gave me a couple of slabs, so the price was right too!
I'll be trying Shawn's chopstick tricks next! Great ideas!!
Just gotin one of my weird moods and built this I guess it all depends on what you want have to try the chopstick thing myself.
