Where do y'all find cases for your CBG's?  I'm thinking maybe gun cases modified inside.

I only have one hard case for my first build. I made the case for it.

I know there have been forums on this before. The link by BrianQ should be helpful.

Gig bags don’t do them any justice either? I think it’s our only option to modify the innards of a hard case, or build one from scratch?

In my opinion, gig bags don't to any instrument any justice.

gig bags are like asking for trouble.

Hi, I have built cases if the customer is willing to pay for one, but it sure does add heaps to the cost. I could build another CBG in the time it takes and the materials neaded to make a lined and covered case.

My approach for CBG's I sell is to throw in a calico type string pull bag (my good wife knocked up a couple of dozen) and let the customer organise a case or gig bag if they want one. My CBG's are too deep for a standard electric guitar hard case, and for me cases are too bulky. I use a soft gig bag meant for a bass guitar. I take mine everywhere when traveling, and often can't spare the extra space a case would take up in the car.

Padded Black Gig Bag for Cigar Box Guitars

Yep, I would not trust the airline with it, or any instrument in any case for that matter, but that's all I need.

if you have not seen it yet go do a tube search for United Breaks Guitars, good for a laugh, unless it's your guitar.

check out Arrow cases  also .

Thanks Pick. If that is a mtm bh3540 I found them ranging from mid 20's to $40. I'm waiting to hear back about inside dimensions.

Big 5 sells those, as does Walmart, but beware, some are flimsy, I have used a few good rifle cases, but those could be pricey? also make sure you’re using a dense foam, that soft egg carton stuff won’t do much in the way of an impact, found that out the hard way?

For the cost I can buy a used guitar case. I look for ones without formed interiors. By the time I figure in the cost of latches, hinges and the wood it's only slightly cheaper than what I can pick up a used one for.
