I'm just looking for a pentometer (I think that's the spelling ) for use with 1 piezo

You are looking for a potentiometer. You want one that is audio taper. You can probably skip an on/off switch since you can just turn the volume all the way down, unless you need on/off for some other reason. If so, then a simple SPST switch should work.

If you're still at Rad Shack (17 hours later!), just ask em!

They don't seem to know too much at Radio Shack any more - last time I was there, looking for that kind of stuff, the guy just looked at me funny when I asked questions, then finally blurted out "What kind of cell phone do you have? What is your phone plan?" So I looked at him funny and left!

Yeah, I noticed that, too, come to think of it, last time I was there. Time was, they knew exactly what they had in stock, and what to do with it. Now, when they come ask if they can help me, I tell em " Just looking," while mumbling "I doubt it," under my breath.

After my last visit to Radio Shack, I have sworn never to set foot in one ever again. Their customer service skills are non-existent, and as already mentioned, the only thing they know anything about at all is mobile phones.

They will spend 45 minutes screwing around with some cell phone customer, and won't even acknowledge that you are standing there waiting to pay for a package of batteries. It would only take them 30 seconds to check you out, but they won't do it.

They will never get another penny of my money, ever.

Sad but true.....this is pretty funny. You guys made my day..pretty rude staff.

I don't know the part number, but look for 500 kilo-ohm to 1 Mega-ohm rating, audio taper. I have even used 250 k-ohm.

Here you go ( how come I'm the only one who knows how to use Google?...)
