2011 Cigar Box Nation Christmas Album

I know it seems early, but Christmas will be here before you know it.

Shane had organized the Christmas albums in the past, but in his absence, CB Gitty asked me if I would like to coordinate it for this year.

For any of the new folks here on the Nation, we have compiled a yearly album of songs played, composed, sung, or whatever, by our members. The primary requirement is that the recording be of fairly good quality. For example, If you are singing, we want to be able to hear your voice. You get my drift...

The 2009 Christmas album contained 23 songs, and the 2010 Christmas contained 40 songs. More songs is not necessarily better, but we really don't have a limit on the number of songs we can include.

You can submit a cover of a traditional song, or you can do something you wrote/composed yourself.

Please respond in this thread if you would like to participate, and include the song that you would like to have included in the album. Once we have the final album compiled, it will be posted as a free download, and anyone will be able to download it. So, you will be able to pass the links along to your friends and family.

I will post more information later.

Thanks

Dan

Anyone mention when a good time for the video's to be displayed/shown?  Almost Done..

It is up to ya'll as to when you want to post videos. If it were me, I would wait for the album to be posted, and then post the video, but you are certainly welcome to do it any time you feel like it.

I just think waiting till the album is posted kind of makes it more of a surprise...just my opinion.

Boy I wish I had seen this sooner.  Can I still enter?  I have a nice cover of Will The Circle Be Unbroken.

I am not familiar with that song. Is it a Christmas song?

Not in the strictest sense.  It's an old hymnal but upon looking it up on Wiki, I see that it's about funerals and death.  Maybe I'll skip it and see if I can learn something Christmassy real fast.

OK, folks. I am wrapping up the last few things and should have the zipped up album available for download some time in the next 24 hours.

Please review the list at the top of this thread and make sure that I have your name spelled correctly. I am also using each artist's CBN page as the clickable link associated with their song/s. If you need any changes made, please let me know ASAP so I can get it corrected.

Is there a way to place the video's on the same page as the download zip file??

I don't see any reason why not. Folks can just post their videos on the thread with the downloads on it.
