Event Description

The CAT is back and the guitars are the stars at this exciting event. Last years SMASH SUCCESS was an unexpected surprise and we're doing it again this year. Come hear some great blues, rock, folk, gospel and plenty of surprises from some of Kansas City's best cigar box guitar artists as well as some closet performers at OPEN MIKE opportunities throughout the afternoon.

Additionally, there will be raffle tickets sold for drawings throughout the event for cigar box guitars and cigar box guitar-related items. Proceeds will benefit the Kansas City BLUES IN THE SCHOOLS program, of which I am intimately involved in. If anyone has items to DONATE to the cause, please contact me here with your interest. Cigar Box Guitars, cigar box guitar accessories, cigar box guitar CDs and DVDs--I'll use it all!

Everyone is welcome at this free, family-oriented celebration of the CIGAR BOX GUITAR, which has seen quite a revival among even professional musicians!

The place just drips with MOJO, and they also make a great order of red beans and rice. See ya there, I'll be the one with the bbq sauce on my shirt.
