Not entirely finished with this one yet, but it is playable.

Two of my motorcycling friends conspired to give a slab of maple from a 150-year-old Indiana barn. It was being sold off to a Kentucky-rifle gun maker for stocks, but I was given a piece to make into guitar necks.

One of them was hosting Micah Kesselring--a fine young blues artist--in his home, so I decided to get a box complete to take with me. This one is a solid body guitar and uses a C.B. Gitty pickup

Micah gave it its inaugural run at his show and it sounded great through my Pignose amp. I had Micah sign it on the upper left side.

Still need to finish the neck (fret markers, a couple of coats of gunstock oil and final fret dressing) before I call this one done.

Far from perfect, but I learned a lot and the next one will be better.

You say far from perfect but I think it looks great and also the historic wood trumps an immaculate build using Home Depot wood any day!
