one way is to use one of the piezeo preampf for acoustic guitars.

if you dont want to add one to every guitar you make then there is a tutorial on here somewhere where  a preamp was put into a very small cigarbox and used as a pedal.. best of both worlds that way tame it or let it roar...lol

Lots of builders, including myself, like to encapsulate the piezo into a bottle cap using hot glue before mounting inside the box, granted you are using the round piezo elements? Sandwiching the element between 2 pieces of wood with glue is also an option? Also, acoustic preamps are the way to go with piezos, good luck on this :)

I actually laid down a cushion of hot glue and embedded my piezo into it. I’m going to take the advice of both of you and have ordered a pre amp module which I’ll probably mount into a small box. Thanks for your response.
