I know scales that go from fret 2 to twelve on each individual string. Is there scales that go to twelve that use all three strings in one scale?

If you know them on each string, then it shouldn’t be hard for you to connect the dots? It’s all math, but you replace numbers with notes. take the scale you know on one string & find it on the other strings? Say in GDG, we know the pentatonic scale is 0-3-5-7-10-12 on one string, right? And on all 3 strings of the open position is: 0-3-5(Low string) 0-3(Middle string)0-3-5(High string) so you take the formula or note names: G-Bb-C-D-F & map them out from string to string: 0(G)-3(Bb)-5(C)Low string 0(D)-3(F)Middle string 0(G)-3(Bb)-5(C)Low string - open position scale. Once you learn the scale’s formula, it’s like counting to five in each direction, but the numbers are notes/letters? Ok, I’m sure I’ve confused you even more, so here’s something from the CBG Tabs group that follows the pentatonic/blues scale on 3 strings? BTW Gitty sells a poster of GDG scales for 3 stringers that cover the whole fretboard? Cheers :)

I think this is what you’re looking for? With all the notes mapped out in their respective tones, you can see what I mean about looking at the formula? If you memorize it, then you can reach out in any direction to find the notes in the scale, no matter what string you’re on?

Thanks for the replies. Yes it does help me towards what I am looking for. Tonight I am going to study it and see what I come up with.

here is a poster of scales that CB Gitty sells
