This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?
I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.
A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

Yea, that plate’s screaming to be on an LPG!!
Good looking box and plate, also a great story. Can't wait to see it.
Should look great! I have that same kit in my gun room - had evil thoughts of turning it into a git as well but then I gotta figure out where to stash my cleaning stuff! Oh the trials life brings . . . :0
My third ply body CBG. Be using one of CB Gitty's Tele necks. Had to dress the fret ends but that's easy enough. Working on the body today. Going to have an access hole cut into the back piece of ply. So I can get to the pots and jack. Was cutting along. Decided to shift my footing. And cut all the way to the outside of the body. Two choices. I can either cut the other side to match and glue that piece back on. Or make my 11 x 14 guitar into a 10 x 14 guitar. This one will have two single coil pickups. Neck and mid using a neck and bridge pickup. Never liked the reversed wound mid sound. I'll save to middle pickup and put them into a build. Also never like the bridge pickup on a strat.
Going to wire it up so each pickup is independent. Not have a switch. info here,
Photo I'll try again.
Ended up going with 10 x 14.
All that's left to cut out is the scroll saw work and holes. Then the pickup rings. They'll be cut out of that hardboard stuff clipboards are made out of. Forgot what it's called. Going to go with two Fender 69's in this guitar. The rusty rat box has Pribora 'Blues' pickups. So both of these guitar will have their own sound.
Not sure what this guitar will end up looking like. Normal? Highly unlikely. : )
Masonite is what I'm sure you're thinking. I'm wondering about the resonating qualities of it for tops!
You’ve played a Danelectro, right? Masonite top & back?
Yes this build does remind me of a Danelectro. I've always wanted a DC 59 model like Jimmy Page used on Kasmir, those little Lipstick Tube pickups sound good distorted.
Just finished these today, same construction and materials for the neck, bridge and fingerboard. The Montecristo is ply,the Vegafina what we call MDF.Unplugged the Montecristo is slightly louder, plug them in and the difference is amazing, the Vegafina blows the Monte away.Don't as me why or how I haven't a clue.
It makes since to me. Hollow body guitars have always had better acoustic than semi-hollow body guitars because the semi-hollows have a more stable platform.
MDF is a lot more stable and the vibrations through it will have less strength than the thin ply of fiberboard tops that most CBG's have.
MDF was used extensively by Danelectro guitars with those Lipstick Tube pickups and they always sounded amazing electrified. They also made a semi-hollow acoustic that was not very good acoustically.
Those look great BTW.
What Ply are you using? Pine? Birch? Lauan?
