heck yes, mighty fine job on this.

After buying and building Gitty's kit I wanted to try another one. The result was the "Rockin Peacenick" so aptly named by another member.

I've since built it a custom case to reside in.

nice looking guitar. I like handmade cases. I have done a few. please post a pic of your case.

A couple of views of the case.....

Cool. nice work on that

My first build was a couple years after my dad had passed. He smoked cigars a lot though my youth and I found a couple of 70's era boxes in his shed that he used for storing screws, nails and small bits.

One was a Montesino Humidor Box and I chose it to make my first 4 string CBG. It's a 25" scale and has 2 piezo wired in parallel under the top and a volume knob. Acoustic strings.

My first, from a smoked salmon box I found at Goodwill. The neck is an oak 1x2 with a maple fingerboard from Stewart-MacDonald. It originally had a Radio Shack piezo buzzer pickup that was too noisy (I had to play it without touching the top) so I recently replaced it with an Electric Delta 4-pole and a cooler antique knob). It doesn't sound like much acoustic because the top is too thick, but it's nice to play amped. That's a picture of Furry Lewis inside the soundhole.

very cool. I like the added mojo of the Furry Lewis pic.

Hi, well my first instrument was not a cbg, it was a mountain dulcimer, the one pictured. It had laminated back sides and a Cedar top. I still have it and it is 43 years old now.

The first guitar I built is also shown, its 41 years old, and still plays and sounds great. I used Honduras Mahogany and Sitka spruce on this one. It has a steel bar in the neck and still has a perfect action. It has a shellac finish, brushed on not French polished.

The first cbg is also shown, I made three or four to work out what works best. I had never seen  a cbg at that time so the first one turned out a bit big. After building a couple I came across Cigar Box Nation and found I was on the right track.

Taff

not quite finished as i have the pickup to put in where the 2 holes are. Induction pickup as we all designed in a thread sadly lost to us.

also got a twin piezeo to put near the bridge and have a 3 way switch. just waiting to figure out the switch..

mostly play it acoustically . brass nut, split pin frets, small brass screws as fret markers and the bridge is some booker rod i found on a building site when i went to install some equipment .  Tasmanian oak neck and finger board. 600 mm scale ( 23.6" ) .

Very nice first build, Ross.  And a cool thread going here.  My first builds are long gone.  A couple of mediocre (at best) dulcimers, then a crappy copy of a Martin travel guitar, then my first cbg in about 2007.  I built it and got a piezo out of a Radio Shack doorbell.  It made some nice sounds, but I didn't know how to play it and wouldn't learn to until about 2009 or 2010 when I found knotlenny's CBG 101.  I think next was  a pretty nice 4 string cigar box banjo.  My first 'good' build.  All of these got gifted or junked.
