Two immediate ways come to mind. For the first,mcheck out this vid,mwhich features a baseball bat-thick neck, 3 doubled string courses, and no truss rod:

The second, of course, is a steel truss rod, down a routed channel in the neck. It can be a box square hollow steel rod, a thickish piece of flat steel facing upward, a threaded steel rod, or an adjustable threaded steel rod.

Yet another way is to restrict yourself to no more than 4 strings, and use the hardest,nstraightest grained wood you can find for a neck. A separate glued-on fretboard made from a different hardwood can help with that too. Numerous builders here report great, long lasting, no bowing necks using any or all of these techniques.

For an extreme case, try making a Lowebow style neck out of heavy steel rebar...entire guitars have been made out of it here on CBN.
