Hi P.A.,I am Elio.

Welding the vibrating blades directly on the piezo can be an idea?

Interesting, seems subtle but present.

Can hear differences in the different examples (designs) you've posted. I'm wondering how you could control or alter the amount of"Echo" you get from the instrument (or if you'd really want to).

Thanks for posting the audios.

Can definitely hear it.  I kind of like the tines only I think.

Jim, I like the last sample best....today. Live sound vs. Mp3 recordings make it easier to hear the difference between designs but it's not a dramatic shift. There are quite a few variables obviously so I think it's worth the extra effort if you enjoy experimenting with sound. I built this Uke like a cbg with a screw on back so that I can continue to play with different ideas over time.
I installed a piezo just so I could pluck the tines and springs while looping through effects pedals and thought that sounded pretty cool too.
I'll look forward to seeing and listening to your ideas.

Yup, I can hear small differences in each. Did you reach any conclusions about what sounds best and if it's worth the extra effort? I'm still working on a couple of similar ideas.

Each design seems to have a pretty subtle effect. I did tape the back on for the tests so the box was enclosed. It is a very small Uke with nylon strings so it's not vibrating the top all that much. Surprising to me how much sound comes through the soundport though.
