I would like to have your opinion about those two cigar box guitar making videos. Which method do you prefer and why. And what should be different on the process. I know that any kind of cigar box guitar can be made using different method and it's the maker/owner choice, but I want to know your opinion about each making process. I am starting to build my first one in a few days and I want the neck of the guitar to go through the body and put a dog bowl into the boxe to make a resonator. For my personal choice, I think I will do like the second video.

The second (Glenn Watt) video is best unless you have a lot of experience.  People will be able to answer your questions if you keep to this basic, standard method.

Nothing wrong with trying something new, like video clip 1, but it's...non-standard.  So if you run into a snag, you're likely on your own to figure it out.  Probably not the best choice for your first build.

Thanks Roy! I will use the second video method. And I will put a dog bowl into the box.

I've been wanting to build a dog bowl resonator myself.  Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out.

#2 is the best, but I would use a hinge or some other metal to hold the strings at the tail end. The way that guitar is strung, the strings will cut into the wood of the tail piece and it won't stay in tune over time. There are some good things about the 1st video as well. I do like how he fretted it, but it could have been done easier. I suggest watching a bunch of videos and find the good in all of them. Good luck on your first one. I remember my first and 55 guitars later... I am hooked.
