John - that's exactly right. It's super humid here right now, so the skin head is sinking a bit. But come winter a shorter bridge will be needed.

Very cool! So if I understand correctly, the head is glued and tacked on as tight as you can, and then different height bridges apply tension to the head while keeping the strings at the proper height over the frets?
