Yep #2 is nearing completion fixed a lot of the mistakes I made on the first one and made a few new ones, the small gouge on the heel for example..  All in all a very much nicer instrument. I love the veneer on the headstock.  I am thinking about selling this one, just need to get the rest of the electrics in it, find hole covers, and oil the neck.. I like the larger box it rests in my lap better and the neck is way sweet, a huge improvement over my first!

Nice....

ok got better pics

Thats nice man!Its a real instrument,I only do a stick in a box.

way I see it a stick in a box is an instrument, long as it sounds good.  an instrument is about music.  I like looks but the most beautiful stick in a box that has no sound is just a stick in a box no matter how much lacquer and paint you buff up on it.  Thank you kindly I appreciate the complement but not at the expense of your own work.  Long as it makes you happy to do and others happy to hear!

Nice work. I like the darker wood of the heel. Are the covers off old computers? My office is moving soon and there is an old computer lab filled with utter junk that is not coming with us. I am thinking of asking if I can strip some parts before they have the equipment disposed of.
You guessed it, I am the technology dept for a small school district and those are indeed the power supply off old computers. Good eye
And again, got a bunch of maple for Valentine's Day starting CBG #3. Might go fretless on this one, not sure. Also may have my first sale, a man is interested in my second one. We'll see. Now I just need to start getting some new tools.

no clue how I have stumbled in this deep already, but here we go again.  here is my latest headstock, yes another copy/simulation and I like them soooo here it is the start of number 3

Have to say that in doing these I have found a new favorite tool, double stick tape.  I use it everywhere, great stuff

was goofing off a bit yesterday and made this, I think it is one of those little things that make a big contribution to the look.  small piece of walnut burl.  should look awesome on the finished headstock.

ok finally landed on a design, going to make it a license plate.  I want to put a humbucker in it and use a hard tail.  using the 25 1/4 gibson scale and I went ahead and fretted one of the fretboards I made.  I trued it up and it is pretty good.  Without getting crazy on a pickup what do you recommend?  I have no qualms cutting the plate for installation so I'm not looking to go flatbucker here.  I want to keep is on the inexpensive side but not garbage.  I have about $1800.00 to aquire so I can spend it on tools to make these cheap things so I want to keep the materiel cost down...lol

Here is where I am now.. I really like this design, if you see anything glaring or something I may be over looking please chime in.

lol.. good one.. it will now and forever be the "Guitato!" coulda used that info on the shoelace an hour ago when I tripped on it!
