New member here at CBN. I'm working on an electric 3 string for my first build. Got my inspiration from the Gibson SG. Using two mini humbuckers and wiring it with just single volume/tone controls and three position on-on-on switch neck/both/bridge. Hopefully I have done all my research to get this right if not I will be hollerin for some advice. The body is made out of aspen just because I liked the look of that particular board and didn't want to use up my gunstock blanks I have in the attic. Wanted to see what I could do before using the good wood.

Wayfinder, thanks for the welcome. I put a couple of "in progress" photos on my page and I guess in the photo section. Still figuring out how the site works and trying to save space. I'll update as I get different parts done. I have figured out that I will have to use my laptop to do somethings on here because my browser on my desktop is, like me, a little old. lol. I checked your page and I haven't built any amps yet but have been scowering the pawn shops for a cheap amp I can canabilize to make a amphead for a four speaker cab I built using 4" speakers.

Welcome. Looking forward to seeing your creations.

:-o

Got everything layed out, routed in place, body rough shaped. Now time to yank everything back out and do some final shaping and put on some finish.

Got it together and am fairly pleased with it. Now if I can figure out how to record something we will post a sound file.

I knew that the grain would pop with some varnish. :-)

Nice work!  Welcome to the addiction!

Beautiful first build! I wouldn't worry too much about "good" wood. What you have looks great. How does it sound to you when you try it?

Oh yea. Welcome. There are some very helpful folks here and they have given me a lot of good advice.

Recforge Lite works well on a smart phone... makes .MP3 files...

Mwahahaha !!!! We have trapped another of the unsuspecting !!!!! Our plan is working !!!
Welcome J - nice job on that - looks like you're ready for the "good wood" !!!
