This my first build. I'm building a 22.5 length scale for a 3 string CBG. Could someone give me the correct fret measurements for the frets. I read the Stewart fret software numbers the fret differently. Anyway help a newbie.

Use the StewMac calculator:

Enter number of frets

scale length (22.5)

inches

select type of instrument (acoustic/electric/etc)

ignore the fret to fret results

use the nut to fret measurements to layout the frets

If you continue to build you'll probably find using millimeters for fret layout is more convenient.

I use fret to bridge distances, with fret #0 is the nut.

Thanks I will check them again the measurements I have.

Don't use bridge to fret, that's begging for trouble. There is not one single solitary good reason to go at it bassackwards.

The nut is a fixed point measure from it. Additionally that's the way the StewMac fret calculator prints out - nut to bridge.

Why make it harder on yourself?

Float the bridge until you get the intonation adjusted.

If you have a Mac, I love fretfind2d. Lets you lay out the whole fret board and print a template. Very accurate and no measuring!
