I want to create my own logo for the headstock of each guitar I build. Has anyone had success with those printable water slide decals? Any other ideas to put your logo on the headstock?

This is for the inkjet version. You just have to make sure you get the clear ones, NOT the white ones.
Nice!
JFYI Went to Staples Stationery store here in Canada early in the fall and asked for Water slide decal paper.. Got that deer in the headlights look.. they had no idea what I was even talking about. never heard of it.. Just laughed and said and you are a stationery store??? then left.. Can't find anywhere locally.. have to try fleabay, but the freight will probably kill me..
You could ask for a fine tipped Sharpie and get the same response at Staples. It's just about the most frustrating store to shop on the planet.
Regarding water slide decals, I've used them a lot over the years and tried the various types. My suggestion is that if you can get to a laser printer, then buy the decal paper made for laser. If you use an inkjet printer and decal paper made for it, the instructions will tell you to seal the ink with clear spray paint before using. This step isn't required with the laser process.
Also, be aware that the white laser paper is just that "white". You will probably want the clear variety.
With a good photo editing program you can produce some amazing decals that look fantastic when installed.
I've found that a little googling and you can find decal paper and instructions on line. I beats Staples every time.
lol.. yes I know. Staples is a bit on the slow side of life... they usually have one person who knows a bit and the others are just furniture, stand around and don't speak, act or move unless they are ready to go home..
tks for other info..

Great topic. It gives me some ideas 2 thumbs up.
As an alternative have you considered iron on?
It may be easier to get locally. Plus you can use it to make matching t shirts.
That's interesting. I've used iron-on to make custom tee shirts, but I never considered applying it to wood. Have you tried it? Doe you need to do it before the first finish is applied? Is a cover finish needed after application?
Thanks for the idea.
I have used it to put the name on my boat, which I did over white paint. I also did some testing on raw wood and it seemed to work well. The only problem I had was with fading. I think that was due to a combination of cheap inks, going in the water and being left in direct sunlight which should not be a problem for cbgs.
