Nice uke. I do my head stocks exactly the same way.

Here's a Havana Honey concert uke. Bridge is cocobolo with a maple saddle. Nut is bone. Neck is aspen wood and fret board is mahoghany. Check out the flower and bee motif for the sound hole and the bee on the headstock.  Enjoy!

This is a concert ukulele with a 15" scale length. The set neck is Maple with a Walnut fret board and heal cop. The bridge is Walnut, and the nut and saddle are aluminum. It has Grover tuners, a contact mike under the bridge, and a volume pot topped with a homemade tiki head knob cast in red plastic resin, panted black, then rubber out to show red highlights.

This is my first fretted instrument build. I have always built fretless sliders. It's made from a cigar box my daughter found in a dumpster in Lake Jackson, Tx. I did not ask what she was looking for in the dumpster. It's a tenor scale and the nut and bridge are made from turtle shell. No turtles were harmed in the making of this uke. I posted it for sale and my other daughter who lives in Chicago, Ill claimed it but I had to give her the family discount. Looks like this uke will be on a little tour of the country this summer.

Cool, thanks!

Drumjolele:  This instrument was inspired by my other builds.  The pot is a 10" tunable hand drum.  The ukulele scale is a tenor.  The neck is maple with a cherry fretboard.  The tail piece is made from brass stock and heat formed.  The truss work in the pot was designed and made by yours truly from the same maple as the neck.  All neck and truss carving was done by me.  The head is tuned to G and currently has a high G.  The neck was angled about 3 degrees to keep the action low. Truss photo added.

Pirate Concert Ukulele.  This is my latest and new favorite.  I have only seen one box like this anywhere in the Denver area.  If anyone knows where I can find more, please send me a note.  This concert scale uke has a hand carved maple neck and rosewood fretboard.  The 5 sound ports present a crisp clean sound.  I think a Low G would make it real mellow.

I guess the photos did not get attached!  So. here goes.

Banjo in a Box.  This was a real McGyver project.  I wanted to suspend the pot in the box and after many iterations of mounting, found a method that I liked that would give a shadowbox effect.  The pot was is hardwood flooring cut and glued with goat skin attached.  The neck is made from a redwood 4x4 from my woodpile, then sprayed black.  The fretboard is cherry.  The sound is punchy like an old time vaudeville instrument.  I use a piece of foam inside sometimes to tone it down.  It is a concert scale with a low G.  It is a real favorite when I take it out.

I remember when you were posting the progress pictures of this baby, specifically how you supported

the drum.

I always liked the way you had the opening for the sound around the drum. The effect I imagine is similar to a resonator backed banjo.

Out of the thousands of builds I've seen on this site, this one left an impression.

Great job.
