Well, I've had my Lowebow for less than a year but I'm seein' some deterioration on the cigar box under where I pick... Okay, I am a thrasher but is it okay to take some of that clear plastic laminent and cut it to size and carefully lay it over that area???

I guess this question would also apply to CBGs...

I mean, there's gotta be a way to protect the box...

Ya'lls thoughts. por favor...

Sup Bob, I'd say yep. Go ahead...why not? Your a player and you need to keep the instument functional, however, if you dont like the idea, dont. If you are an aggressive picker and already see considerable wear it time to do something to protect your investment. I dont mean run out n attach pick guard to your axe... maybe even (i dare say) look at ones technique. If you decide to go w/ a pick guard, ive used the transparent p.g. material from StewMac. It has worked out nicely for me in multiple applications and ive had no lifting or bubbling(common in cheaper, thinner clear laminates).
Peace,
Jacob
Oh, n real quik, nybody thinkin bout attachin a pickguard to thier axe should keep this in mind...When you attach an adhiesive piece to the top of your axe it WILL mildly impair resonation of the top and WILL slightly effect tone. Not a big deal fer the magnetic guys but def a thought fer piezo fans.
Again, Peace,
Jacob
Thankee, Jacob....

I'll check StewMac out an' see what they have... Too late to on the technique side 'cause my right hand declared independance about 35 years ago... lol.... Not really on the lol... The sumabich really did strike out on it's own...

Now to Google fir StewMac
Thankee again, Jacob...

Great joint... I found what I need in no time, have book-marked the site and life is good...
Yo, Rockerman,

My CBL has more wear on it in the little time I've been playin' it than Ben's has in the couple two 'er three years of him playin' his...

If it were the B-P'r it would be different 'cause its wood.... I don't want to play my Lowebow to pieces... I'm gong with the helmit and the knee-pads...
Bahahahahahaha. Nice........nice.

Bobz, what's the name of Willie Nelson's guitar?

I say just play it till it falls apart. A plastic pickguard on a LoweBow is like you wearing a helmet and knee pads when you learned to ride a two wheeler. You were SPECIAL then, and so was the little bus that picked you up in the morning.

Ben ain't nowhere near wearing his out yet, and you got some catching up to do.

SPANK IT!

You got some miles to go with the Back Porch'r too...

Get to work!

tc

(and look at jacob all scientific)
Hey, science is back in, Rockerman... Ain't ya' heard???... Yeah, the flat earthers is movin' on little doggies...

I know... You just want me to play my Lowebow to pieces do you can build me a Rockerbow... Well, build it anyway... I'll tell everyone who asks about it that you made it and give 'um yer website...

Meanwhile, bring on the helmit and kneee pads...
how about an archtop style 'floating' pickguard that is mostly off of the body?? they look pretty cool too...
What's the diff, R-Man??? I mean, on one hand you say that if I put a thin clear plastic laminant about the size of a cigarette pack over where I am playin' my Lowebow to pieces that I', "phuk"in' up John's instrument and on the other hand...

...It's okay to spray it with hair spray or chemicals (poli)???

Hmmmmm???

Me thinks that you have been playin' with the "one holer" again...

(Don't Bogart that joint my friend, pass it over to me...)

lol...

BTW, the plastic laminent is sold for the purpose of being used on instruments... Hair spray ain't...
See, Rockerman.... At least I ain't talking duct tape here but 'bout another 6 months and that poor Lowebow would need duct tape....

Thanks, B-Doughboy...
Well, ya'll...

The deed is done and it came out perfect....

Thanks to those of who who were supportive and for the rest of ya'll???

Bite me!!! Awwww, jus' funnin'... If ya'll wanta trash yer CB's then have at it... I got alot of autographs on mine that I don't wanta loose... LIke Rory Block... And Sparkyu and Rhonda Rucker... And alot of my homies back in D.C....

Now I can look forward to having my CBLowebow foerever...
well, the face of my Christian Beshore cbg and my first Reddog suffer from thrashitis, but I've just left it-I mean, they've got scars but so have I-so long as it aint right through I dont view it as a problem personally.
Just my pennies worth.
