So, the song will be 20 minutes long?

I personally don't care, but you might want to take the resulting file size into consideration (20-25MB?), and think about whether someone is likely to sit and listen to a song that long.

Nobody has ever set a rule or guideline on how long a track can or should be. I guess I would leave it up to you.

Hey Dan,

Thanks for doing this! A couple questions:

1) Can we submit an "original" composition?

2) What format should the file be in?

3) Where to submit it?

1) Original compositions are just peachy

2) MP3 seems to be the easiest for most of us to work with.

3) When you have your submission finished, just post the fact that it is ready, and I will send you an email address for you to send it to.

Awright, all you zombies!!! There's only 14 songs officially on the list for this album, and only FOUR have been officially submitted. Yes, I know the deadline's Oct 15, but...getcher Boney arses in gear!!! It's stressful trying to juggle a bunch of last-minute submissions, get 'em EQ'd and balanced, arrange them in some semi-logical playing sequence, collected into a set of files that are downloadable, and then run multiple tests of the download. I can assure you, Dan will appreciate any and all care you take to provide the best recording you can, as soon as you can. Submit your original take on any aspect of the Hallowe'en experience, choose from the list on Page 1 of this thread, or come up with something you like that was missed. But get 'em in!

Yes, I know, I did one already that came off my first album, to save my limited recording time, while I work on new songs for Album #2. If you have something already done, get it in NOW! ;-)

You can then go back to mouldering in yer respective graves, or howling at the moon. Remember, Death comes for us all; don't let the Grim Reaper catch you with your musical pants down!
