I just finished the CBG I have been working on over the last few weeks. This was a lot of fun to build and I am already starting on the next one. Please let me know what you think. I tried to use as many hand tools as possible when shaping the neck and headstock. It has a standard Radio Shack piezo, tung oiled poplar neck, red oak fretboard with burned frets and cut down .357 Mag bullet casings for markers. It plays great with a slide. It is loud when played unplugged very nice sound in my opinion, although I have not heard any others in person to compare it to. After I adjusted my amp it sound great plugged in too.

You have a great eye for design... simple, yet just enough "unique" details to set it apart from the herd. Don't you just love how tung oil creates a "deep" finish?

anyway, thanks for sharing...

the best,

Wichita Sam
Its just a sink strainer I found at the local mom and pop hardware store. I spent quite a while looking for one in brass to match the bullets and the rest of the hardware.
awesome!

Wow,.......nice!
I see talent.....very nice....great compared to my first cbg.
wow I 've built a few now nothing so nice. I like the pics out side neat touch. You said you use a radio shack piiezo I've found they pick up almost to much where did you mount it in the box? any way nice work dont hold back next time lets hear some tunes
nice, you have alot of patience.
I started mine today, i'll be finished tomorrow but it won't look anything like yours.
i'll make more, hope one looks as good as yours.
I sandwiched mine in two pieces of 1/32" thick basswood. I then used generous amount of hot melt glue to fix it to the underside of the lid about a half an inch up and to the left of the bridge. I dont have to much trouble with it. I do get some feedback if Im turned up pretty loud but I can mute it with my pinky finger tip while playing by anchoring it on the lid on top of where I mounted the pickup.

What a great build. You must be really proud. I'm thinking that my first build (once I get a tiny bit bolder) won't come close to your level of perfection!
wow!-superclean build.
Very nice CBG, great job.
looks great, looks like you put alot of thought into it-and it paid off
