I dont know about you all but I am just hooked and going nuts with these dang CBG. I even have got two other people into it and they are building now. I am now looking for stuff everywhere I go. I am now looking at local shops and junk now is starting to look good. I just found two old boxes and they are going to have F Holes and I am going to try and keep them as rustic and old looking as possible. Thanks for the help to all that have helped and I look forward to many more builds and great finds to talk and share. THANK YOU>>>>>

Mate tell me about it! I am averaging three hours a day on CBN and 3 mornings a week on construction...wife is gonna kill me - I can't stop buying junk ha!
Yup, you're hooked!
I stumbled upon this little hobby around 9 months ago... and am just finishing builds #28 and #29!
Theres no going back you know....
yeah Ben you are right on....only real question becomes where to now?
Just saw the drawing for a violin CBG with sympathetic strings...now that guy is so hooked...
It will slow down, all hobbies do. I tend to want to build the next one better then the last, and I end up using better materials, and putting more time in on them, going from production of just anything, to getting picky over making one good one. I already got some I dont even touch because they turned out as turds. Whats the sense in making a bunch of them unless your selling them, or practicing your sawing skills. You will end up with favorites that you like to play, and ones that you just make faces at when you walk past them. Thats just me anyway. I get enough production at work, why bring it home.
Really? Where?

Yep I admit I am a CBG junkie. I looked into rehab but I have to many builds in my head. Not enough time. My wife suggested that I build my coffin and put tuners and F holes on it. lol
I average between 30 to 50 sales a month with these things. And I warn most every customer that these things are addictive.
I've been so busy working my "real" job and building/selling that I didnt see it coming,,, This week for the 1st time since I've been doing these things,I only got half the builds finished and ready to sell.
I've been pushing so hard I ran myself down.So I have to find a way to get it done, and not kill myself in the process.
I learned this week that moderation may be the way to go.
Hi Roger

You are making and selling 30-50 CBGs each month??

Man, that is crazy. You are making more guitars than we're making cars in the UK these days..

I'm in awe ;)

hey Mort,

"all hobbies slow down"... except for the one that is you. There are so many possibilities to CBGs (building, types, performance, writing music, educating, workshops, etc. etc. etc.) that it never has to slow down.... I'm 1 1/2 years and 150 builds into CBGing and I feel like I'm just scratching the surface. I've discovered performing and writing...and that added to building will keep me going for as long as I have time left to enjoy...

the best,

Sam

I guess if we could get the boxes in a big enough quantity in the UK like you guys in the states then we would all be
''junkies''.
Well tell you what I have a local shop that has a tun and I will get them for you and ship them if you want as long as you pay for them and shipping. Just let me know and I have paypal so it can happen fast. Most of them are paper covered but they are all wood and many different sizes. If you are wanting Cohiba boxes I am sorry I keep all I find...
