new here,building first 3 string.Have a question,

I know some one has tried this.Will a sound hole pickup from a six string gutiar work on the box of a 3 string

There are several groups that have been formed to discuss the various questions of pickups and electronics, I would suggest searching the groups and trying there. Heres one.

I believe what you are talking about is a clip on magnetic pickup. I havent seen one used on a CBG yet, but anything is possible. If you can find a way to mount it with the proper proximity to the strings it should work. If you have one try it, and show us the results. If you dont have one you might find better or easier to mount alternatives, try starting with the above link.
