Nifty build, and an excellent sound. I tend to do that dead string percussion as well, seems to keep people's feet tapping right....!!!

Thanks Derek. Busy, busy, busy! Seems I hardly put a guitar down nowadays and when I do I'm watching YouTube lessons or building another. I even listen to the blues on Spotify while I'm asleep lol. It's all about the blues and the guitars. I think I might be getting a bit obsessive haha!

Thanks Erasmo. I like the image on the box too and wanted to use it on top of the guitar but have always loved guitars that can be opened without needing to take strings off. Using it this way gave me the rugged look I love and the opportunity to own a guitar that opens without changing anything. Thanks again and glad that you liked it.

I hope so Jim. The neck itself should be fine with the 9s on as it's 26mm thick sapele. Thinking of putting a fretboard on just in case. Be nice if it was fretted but I've never done fretting of a guitar before. I might buy the fret saw, jig-thing and fret hammer at the cigar box guitar festival at the end of the month if I don't find a guitar. I can always practice on a few scrap bits of wood first. Thanks again.

I think it'll hold up fine. I've done 5 string banjos with just 3 screws with no problems.

Thanks, Jim. I'm definitely super happy with the whole build and how it turned out. Just hope those five screws holding the neck to the through stick hold out so it doesn't implode lol. Only got 9s on it though so I'm hopeful that it should. Thanks again.

Thanks Uncle John. I just bought the Cigar box guitar technique book for three and four string guitar by Brent Robitaille so got it tuned GDGB so I can learn more stuff. Love the book. Scales, chords, this that and t'other. My mind is truly blown. Hopeful that it will help me progress but I never knew there was so much to know!

Nice thing going to the nursing home to play for them. You're now officially my hero. My ambition is to get good enough to busk one day. Not so much for the money but so that I can spread the word about CBGs! You make me feel like I need to rethink my ambitions. Really cool thing that you did. Thanks again.
