Craig, we can always use more informed opinions around here. Most of us are building by "feel", with a "no rules" approach, but there are times when there is no substitute for having done it before: I've certainly made my share of bloopers. In fact, I just tore down a CBG I was excited to string up Thursday night, when i found that I hadn't gotten the (fretless) fingerboard level, and couldn't finger it at all between about the third and seventh frets. I made some long sanding blocks, and have levelled it out now -- waiting for stain to dry before adding finish.
Welcome aboard, Craig! You will find lots of helpful folks and information here on all things CBG (CBU, CBB, etc.) Feel free to poke around, ask questions, and post your stuff (photos, recordings, videos, etc.).
