How did you learn about Cigar Box Nation?
from a friend

NEW to elect. CBG.

New owner of a custom built elect.3-string cbg. Found a true craftsman that built it with his soul in it by the way it cries. She got 2 single coil p/u,3 position tone switch, andtone and volume knobs. My friend also built me an all tube amp from wood a wooden felt lined case,a custom made tooled leather strap, some home made glass slides and a leather bag to hold slides, picks, etc. Also as a birthday surprise a small wooden amp with the same features as an gorilla amp. I have played a strat that I bought from a pawn shop when I was 24yrs.old I 63yrs young now. The ole axe is a Fender all American made. Last 8yrs. I just got interested in the 3-strig elect.CBG and finally to get myself one in 2013. Every day I play her I just can't wonder why I waited so long. She plays a mean Texas blues, Delta blues, Memphis blues, and of course my on style of blues with a southern twist of ole school rock. The problems I have over come is string size which I had to find out trying different sizes and open tunings. I found that 32,24,and 11,is the size I like for several tunings plus I love to finger bend strings for that slow grawal of the bending. I like turning my gain and distoration up tone switch all way to the top position and the tone half way up I can just use my glass wine bottle slide with out having to finger or pick for the strings the trick to this for me is the open tuning I choose and when to move the slide to match the time and back-up for the said tune. And my picking of the strings and fret board I like to bend, hammer on and off just makes a big smile on this ole man.So to say all this in one short phrase is Thank You Robert JOHNSON. Still learning  Steve in Texas.
